Mike and Sally Mello launched Mello Marine in December 2009 with support from Centurion Boats. The dealership grew as a family enterprise, eventually welcoming their sons into the business and broadening its offerings to include paddleboards. In 2019, the purchase of a Folsom location at 7450 Folsom Auburn Road marked another important chapter, giving Mello Marine a stronger foothold in a community defined by its connection to the water.
In early 2026, Mello Marine added RH Aluminum Boats to its brand lineup and opened Outback Tackle, a dedicated fishing-equipment and accessories operation designed to serve Northern California’s fishing community. RH Aluminum boats is based in Grants Pass, Oregon and specialize in heavy gauge, all welded aluminum fishing boats for lakes, rivers and the ocean. Outback Tackle is an all new fishing shop with a huge inventory of tackle, rods, reels and everything the fisherman in Northern California needs. The move recognizes that a day on the water requires more than a boat: anglers need engines, bait, tackle, and the practical gear that turns an outing into a successful one.
Outback Tackle extends the Mello family’s long-standing philosophy of meeting water-sports customers where their passions lead.
