Fishing Report August 8 2026

Sacramento River Salmon fishing is good lots of fresh large salmon throughout the river best fishing is from Colusa to Barge Hole. The salmon are holding in the cold deep holes sardine wrapped plugs and fresh salmon roe is best bait. Wild Rainbow Trout fishing is excellent and a few nice Steelhead are being caught also. Best bait is drifting fresh salmon roe and trolling small maglip plugs. Red Bluff to Redding is fishing the best.

Striped Bass is very good from Wards Landing,Colusa,Butte City,Ord Bend and Woodson Bridge best bait is anchovy chunks and trolling plugs.

Feather River King Salmon is good from Oroville outlet hole to Boyds pump in Yuba city. Best bait is sardine wrapped plugs,fresh salmon roe, blue fox number 6 spinners and silvertron double blade silver and blue spinners.

Rainbow Trout and Steelhead fishing is good from Oroville low flow to Yuba City at Boyds pump. Striped Bass fishing is good from Oroville outlet hole to Boyds pump in Yuba city. Best bait is anchovy chunks, sardines and casting and trolling lures.
