Eagle Lake

Good Summer fishing continues

Spalding – Tim Noxon gave us this report: Fishing is good at Eagle Lake and holding steady. For the last two weeks, limits have been the rule for those who start early. The bite slows down after 7:30 AM.

We are dropping our lines in by 5:30 am and fishing off Eagles Nest on the east side of the lake between Ronald McDonald's Camp and Miners Bay.

We are trolling our baits between 15-25 feet deep in 30-50 feet of water.  Watermelon colored grubs and hot red/pearl white spoons are accounting for our fish.  Thomas Buoyants and Ex-Cel Eagle spoons are doing very well.

The bite has been hot between 5:30 and 7:30 AM. It slows dramatically after that.

The stomach contents of some of our fish contain minnows. I believe that is what  is holding the trout in the area we are fishing. Hopefully, the minnow schools will thicken up and attract more and bigger Eagle Lake Trout to this area and all over the lake.

Surface water temperatures are 74 degrees. Please do not catch and release fish. The survival rate in water this warm is too low.

Whether you are fishing with me or not, don't hesitate to give me a call for how to information on Eagle Lake. We are happy to help out.
