Eagle Lake slow till water cools off
Spalding -- Tim Noxon of Fish Traveler Guide Service said the fishing at Eagle has been pretty tough for most people, with the warm water temperatures and lots of green algae on the lines. Water temp was 63 degrees. He said most boat were only seeing one or two fish a day. However Gina at Eagle Lake Marina has been out the last 2 days and caught limits of trout in the Miners Bay area. She said the water was much clearer in that area. Her fish came on copper/red Thomas Bouyants. The Jay fair hot orange fly is always good this time of year, and some folks are doing OK on good old fashioned “garden Hackle” – otherwise known as worms.
The fishing will only improve as the water cools and clears up. October and November are some of the best times to fish Eagle Lake.
